Belmont Black Sox win Woodstock tournament

Thanks to Joe Todd for the following:

Belmont Black Sox withTodd Winkworth defeated Ingersoll Crush 7-2 in the A final in Woodstock.

In the A semi, #31 Waterdown Hammer had a 3-0 lead going into the seventh inning when they brought in Tim Neill to get the save in relief of starter Jim Hurst, but Belmont scored 6 in the top of the seventh and then Waterdown scored 2 in the bottom of the seventh to make it a 6-5 final.

Ingersoll Crush scored 58 runs in their first 5 games, but only got two in the final off Winkworth, who will be pitching for #5 Bridgeport, ON Braves at the ToC.

#8 Oswego, NY CPI at Kingston, ON tournament

CPI traveled to Sydenham, Ontario for the 2006 Victoria Day Weekend Men’s fastball tournament held in Bowes Memorial Park. CPI claimed the A pool going 4-0, while Knoxville, ON claimed the B pool also going 4-0. After a long weekend with both teams playing 5 games through rain, wind, and sleet a championship game was not played.

Pete Schwab Memorial Tournament July 14-16

I’d like to invite everyone to this year’s Pete Schwab Memorial men’s fastpitch softball tournament. The tournament will be held July 14-16 in Frankenmuth’s Heritage Park.

As in years past, the tournament will be organized into a 4-game round robin tournament with the top 6 teams competing in a single-elimination playoff. A total of 16 teams are expected, as in years past.

The tournament entry fee is $300. The tournament will be structured around ISC II type teams. Teams with pitchers on the ISC II pitcher’s ineligible list will not be allowed unless written approval is given by the tournament committee prior to the entry deadline of July 1st.

Frankenmuth is a beautiful place to visit during the summer. I strongly recommend bringing your families along.

Snapper Shootout Teams

Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON

The Mick & Angelo’s Snapper Shootout is set with 16 confirmed teams. The Shootout will take place on June 2-4 at Centennial Park in Niagara-on-the-Lake. The field of teams promises to offer very competitive fastball at the ISC II level. Top prize will be $1500 Cdn plus Molson prizes. The host Niagara Snappers are-two time defending champions and will be in tough to repeat in 2006 as the calibre of teams seems to get better each year.

Here is a run down of the 16 confirmed teams. Teams will play a divisional format with the top two teams in each division moving on to the Sunday single elimination.

Moraviantown, ON tourney offering $5,000 first place prize money!!

The first annual “Big How” Howard Logan Sr. Memorial Tournament will be held July 21-23 in Moraviantown in southwestern Ontario.

Entry fee is $800.

Prize money is as follows:
First: $5,000
Second: $1,600
Third: $850
Fourth: $850
5-8: $400

Tournament all-stars will each receive a $50 cash prize plus a ball bag.

Each team is guaranteed three games.

12 teams make the playoffs.
