Oshawa On

Wednesday October 12th 2005

Under very wet and cool conditions these two teams battled it out in this final deciding game to determine the Oshawa City And District Fasball League 2005 playoff champions.

Very fine misty rain prevailed for the whole game, pitchers had trouble hanging onto the ball having to constantly ask for a towel to dry of the ball. Kudos to the catchers.

Costello walk off HR wins Battle of Eastern Ontario

Saturday, October 8th, 2005

Micksburg, ON

Game 2 played Friday night in very cool conditions.

After losing game 1 by a score of 4-0, Kanata Team Easton defeated Micksburg in their own park by the same 4-0 score to tie the series. Dan Konkle pitched the complete game shutout. John Peck had a homer for Team Easton. Corey Costello took the loss.

The teams had agreed previously that in order to save travel and get the series in before the weather got too cool that third and deciding game would be a “mini-game” in which the first team to hold a lead after a complete inning would the winners.

Game 3 “mini-game” turned out to be the longest game of the series, as the teams played seven scoreless innings, before Corey Costello hit a walk-off homer in the bottom of the eighth to win the inaugral Regional Series for the Micksburg Twins. Costello had the pitching victory. Dan Konkle was the loser.
